It was on May 28, 2005

Yes, May 28 is the day we got married. Finally. After almost 6 years of relationship, with almost 4 years of it was a long distance. I'd like to call it the LDR , Long Distance Relationship. But i guess the hardship of the South Korea-Indonesia LDR, the South Korea-Singapore LDR, the Singapore-Indonesia LDR has finally paid off. The two families met, then we set the date.

Why May 28?
Image hosted by Photobucket.comNo particular reason. In Indonesia, most people held their wedding reception on weekend, in a rented-for-a-day hall or building, where all the guests will come, congratulate the bride and groom and the two families, then enjoy the party banquet. So, renting the building is the biggest problem. One has to book it about 6-12 months before the wedding date. For some favourite buildings, one even has to book it more than 1 year before. In my case, I booked the building 5 months before 28 May, that was around early January. I was lucky, the building still has 2 dates of empty slots: on May 21 and May 28. May 21 2005 was a long weekend. I had to consider the traffic jam in my city during the weekend (which is...argh..frustating!). So, May 28 it is!
Just like that. No calculation as to decide the so called 'best date to get married' like many of Indonesians usually do. It's a part of tradition. But to me, everyday is a good day.
So, the availability of the building to hold a wedding reception has pretty much decided on what date i got married. Haha.
